'My Passport' portable HDD is not opening in Windows

The HDD was BitLocker encrypted since the purchase and was working fine earlier.

However, now existing password is not being accepted and instead the system is asking for ‘48 digit recovery key’ to unlock which I am not aware of.

As a result I can no longer access the vital data in the HDD.

Can anyone help, please?

Hi @gpplus3
Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the WD Technical Support team for the best assistance and troubleshooting:

BitLocker is a Microsoft Windows security and encryption feature that is included with certain newer versions of Windows** . BitLocker enables users to encrypt everything on the drive Windows is installed on, protecting that data from theft or unauthorized access.

I believed if you need the 48 digit recovery key, you would need to log in to your online Microsoft account to get the key.

Good luck

iam also facing the same issue - Any Help would be appreciated
