Please help and bear with me. So we just purchased My Passport (2TB) back on May26 (Thursday) and I just started using it a few moments ago. I was setting things up and even followed a video to make sure as it is my first external hard drive. I was setting up my password when it just disappeared- the whole option is gone.
Isn’t it when you open WD Discovery, it opens this side window where you can see your storage/devices you have connected, and “My Passport” would have this settings icon and when you click on it, it would have 3 options namely: “LED (ON), Set Password, Eject”, while I was typing out mine, it just exited and when I reopened WD Discovery to set it up again, the only option left was “Eject”. I am not really sure what’s happening right now, is there another way to set up my password?
(1) Do I have to reinstall the WD Discovery?
(2) Would it affect the files I have saved already?
(3) Additionally, is it really intentional where when you open WD Discovery, there is no icon on the taskbar? Whenever I click outside WD Discovery window, it just disappears and I have to click on the shortcut again even if I had a process on-going (like installing backup- which I had an issue as well as it just halted at like 80-90%). I feel anxious about this now, I feel like I just mess up even the simplest things. I hope someone can help me with these things, it would be very much appreciated.
