My Passport Ultra


I’ve used this device for over 2 years and everytime I connect it to my laptop the drive automatically opens and allows me to access my files. (Is this the auto unlock feature?)

A couple of days ago I had a system update, after this the device prompted me for a password. If I set one up (which I do not recall) I no longer remember it.

Is there a way to remove this password (im guessing unlikley) or revert my computer setting back to how they were to allow the auto unlock feature to let me access my files again?

Hi, welcome to the WD Community.

If there is a password set up on the drive there is really no way to change it or remove it unless you format the drive. Do you know if someone else have been using the drive? Have you tried a different computer?
