My Passport on different computer - installation?

My laptop crashed. I have another laptop.

I plugged in My Passport on my other laptop and installed it. It shows in “my computer” and I can access the files. However, it is not backing up my files on this new computer.

What do I need to do in order to have My Passport back up this computer?

What software did you used on your previous backup? If it was the WD Smartware, you will need to create a new backup on the new laptop.

It was probably Smartware. how do I create a new backup on the current laptop?
