I have all my files from a previous laptop backedup onto My Passport, I would like to retrieve some of those files and save onto my new laptop. I tried to do this via the ‘Retrieve’ tab on my WD Smartware (which of course was automatically downloaded on my new laptop), but I couldn’t find a way to access the files from my previous laptop.
I hope my question is worded properly and makes sense. Thank-you for reading my question!

Quick question: WHERE did you choose to restore the files to? Original places or content folder? In case you selected original places… You’re aware the “original” places logically don’t exist on a new computer, right? You need to restore using the content folder option so the files will go into a single folder, or the restored files will get lost in your computer.
You can also copy and paste out the files in the folder .swstor inside the drive, it should have the smartware backup sorted by file structure (computer name> volume> users/documents and settings> user account> files).

Yeah I clicked ‘to a retrieved content folder’ then I clicked next. This screen comes up
This tab shows all my folders on my current laptop, I want to know if it’s possible to access the folders from my previous laptop. Please excuse my lack of knowledge!
Thank-you for replying ThePizzaMatrix.
I’ve got it, I had to change to back up source. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.
