Recover info from 1 computer to another

I have a My Passport Essential SE 1 tb external drive that I have been using for a couple of years on 1 computer. I just bought a new computer and I am successfully backing up the new computer too I was told that I could back up 2 different drives on the same external Passport drive. But am I able to take the backed up info from the older computer that is saved on the drive and restore those files to the new computer?? 

From the ‘retrieved’ tab I am selecting the old drive, then I am selecting files I want to put on the new drive. When I go to the ‘retrieved folder’ I can see the file but I am not able to open it.

Hello, from the Smartware retrieve tab it is not possible to access the files. You can manually access the passport and look for the smartware.swstor folder, inside this folder you can access all of your files. You can also check page 48 of the manual to see the steps to retrieve your backup using Smartware.

Thank You. I was able to find files saved from my old computers in the smartware.swstor folder. That is a big help!!
