Retrieving data to a new computer

i bought a new computer, and i want to retrieve everything (or at least as much as possible) from my external drive (my passport essential 0740). how do i do that? thank you

If you used Smartware to backup the files from the old computer, you need to reinstall it on the new computer or just explore the passport manually to copy and paste all of the files.
