My Passport for MAC

Hi all

I have is a 2TB my Passport for MAC and it not been recognized by a MAC pro. This drive has a 200MB EFI partition and one 1.8TB HFS+ partition. My understanding is that the EFI partition controls the boot process. Can somebody tell me what format this partition should be? Is a an ExFat, Fat32, etc…

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, EFI system partition (ESP) is a partition on a data storage device used by computers adhering to the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and UEFI firmware loads files stored on the ESP to start installed operating systems and various utilities during the computer boot process. It’s specification is based on FAT file system and as it is concerned with the Operating System so we shouldn’t alter its format.

Hi asp3

thank you for your reply. I have another question. The drive in question , shows an unallocated 200MB partition in Disk management,

which it should be the EFI system partition. Unfortunately, I can’t see this partition in TestDisk. Would it be possible to recreate it?
