My Passport Drive, Not showing in Explorer

Hi all, 

Hope somebody can help me as this issue is driving me up the wall.

I have a 1tb My Passport drive which is used as a back up for all my photos of my kids.  At the moment cannot access the drive.

All drivers are up to date and the device is working properly accoridng to device manager.

The drie shows in disk management but only shows as disk 1.  It wont allow me to initialise due to an I/O error.

I have tried removing all usb hubs and reinstalling, the device shows in device manager with no problems, but I stll cannot access it.

I can see the drive in my devices and printers, but again cannot access it.

Please help as I dont want t lose all my photos.

According to local support, problem seems to be mechanical error due to computercrash where the safe removal options was not fulfilled. Hardware analysis necessary unfortunately. no further help from this forum needed, thanx anyway.
