My hdd wont reconise with my wd media player

i just bought a Seagate 1 tb drive 3.0 usb and my wd media player wont recognise it I have done a full format but with no succsess can sumone help me I hope it can be resolved

I also tried a Seagate drive and it didn’t work. I think it only recognizes Western Digital drives. I have since used all WD drives with no problem.
