I just noticed that my G-Drive has no power. Not sure how long it’s been off, but my iMAC Time Machine says “latest backup was July 1, 2018.” Everything seems to be connect properly, but still no power. This G-Drive is 5+ years old. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Is it a G-DRIVE w/ Thunderbolt or just USB and Firewire? Make sure you’re using the proper power adapter. 12V and 2A. If you are and it still won’t power on then it is possible the adapter or the enclosure has failed over time and won’t go on.
At 5+ years it would be well passed warranty and you would need to get another drive if you wanted to continue doing backups.
