My cloud single bay 1st gen

Hi, I have a My Cloud OS3 which I know is no longer supported by WD. I disconnected it from the internet in 2022 but still use the device via wifi.
The device hosts my itunes library and i can play this via my Sonos equipment and all works well.
It also has photos and videos stored, I can access the photos to view but can’t play the videos.
Also I haven’t added anything to the device for many years and now don’t know how to do this, i.e. photos, music tracks (I would like to add and delete some).
It was never very easy to do but now can’t seem to do it at all.
If there was a mobile app for this it would be simple but I don’t think there is.
Would welcome any advice please.

Thank you

You can use Windows File Explorer, Mac Finder or any file manager app on a mobile device to copy files to and from the local network My Cloud. There are various free programs to play media on Windows or Mac. You can play media from the local network My Cloud on mobile devices using any number of free or paid media player apps (like VLC).

It would be helpful if you name the mobile device you are having an issue with playing media from the My Cloud.

For Android devices I use free programs like VLC or MX Player to play media from the My Cloud. And use the free File Manager+ on Android to access the local network My Cloud to copy files to/from it.

My old device is working fine and is set up for use on my Home Network only. It has a static address. It appears in File Explorer, see image below. Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it.

To open my shares/files I use \\WDMYCLOUD or you can use \\device name.

To open the Dashboard find the address of your device and use that. You should be able to drag and drop files or use backup app if you have one.
