My Cloud OS 5 Indexing...AGAIN

I am not sure if anyone else has had this happen but, as it turns out, My Cloud has decided to index my files for a second time. When I initially installed the OS 5, a few months ago, I waited a few weeks for this to be completed (and I only had .870TB of data). Now, after moving locations, the system has decided that it needs to conduct another indexing session, locking me out of my folders and files.

This is poor planning, poor operational support, and unrealistic timelines for clients and consumers to endure these delays and frustrations. I could say more but it would turn into nothing more than a tirade, rant, and pejorative tantrum.

The indexing process restarts every hour looking for fresh files in every directory… This takes almost 10 minutes on my box (25.000 audio files, 3000 movies, 10.000 images and 260.000 other files, totaling 4TB ). What a horrible mess. Doing a periodic full disk scan for occasionally accessed and rarely changed files is a complete nonsense. WD seem to employ only undergraduates as IT architects…

My Cloud Ultra has decided to conduct a thorough and in-depth indexing of the entire system, again. It has been running for 4-days and is ONLY at 24%. As a result, I have NO access to my files through mounting of the disk on my computer. I ONLY have access through the web “My Cloud”.
