My Cloud Home Mac / Big Sur - When open stops me from browsing

I’ve had this problem ever since Big Sur update and tried reinstalling Big Sur thinking it was that OS which was stopping me from browsing after about 10 minutes. I’ve since narrowed it down to My Cloud.

When I open (or when it opens from start up) on the MacBook App, I can see the folders and they’re in my finder window too. When I then go to casually browse the internet, it might work for a few minutes then it seems to stop. it’s not until I restart the MacBook that things begin to work again. Disabling My Cloud and the WD in the top dock allows the MacBook to continue working as normal.

I’ve tried doing the 4 second reset and reinstalled all software.

I’ve got a recent log when I quit My Cloud on the WD app and restart the MacBook. This happens all of the time and it’s definitely the My Cloud or the WD app which is the root cause of the issue. (forum won’t allow me to upload it as it thinks I’m linking to external sites or tagging in people).

Following - I just installed the WD discovery app excited to use my new My Cloud Home device. But as soon as The app launches at start up or manually, and I try to sign into my account my computer stalls. Fans start spinning high, it won’t allow me to sign it and eventually the system becomes unresponsive (spinning beach ball constant) forcing me to hard shutdown by holding the Touch ID button.

Once I uninstall WD Discovery App, the computer functions normally again.

I have tried to redownload and reinstall 3 times. I was thinking of making a Time Machine backup and reinstalling Big Sur. However, I just purchased this laptop brand new maybe 3 months ago and just updated to Big Sur when it came out.

Had my hope up for a solution there, haha.

I really think this issue is down to the build of the WD software and it’s use with Big Sur.
