My Cloud Home Feedback

I have been a user of WD NAS devices for 12 years starting with My Book Live and then on to WD My Cloud devices and lately on My Cloud Home. I bought the My Cloud Home device recently because both my older devices stopped working, may be their life got over.

I have never been so disappointed with WD NAS device as with My Cloud Home. Not only that it’s so much harder to set it up and managing it is a pain. Additionally, it doesn’t support basic services like DLNA/Twonky services which are essential for home use. Even the Plex server which is the only media server (that has all audio/video services) that is supported by this devices is clumsy, slow and has limited functionalities.

If anyone is contemplating to buy or upgrade their NAS, I would not recommend going for My Cloud Home solution. Try an alternate solution instead. I wish someone had shared this feedback before I bought this device, or else I would not have bought it.
