Hi all,
I recently purchased the My Cloud EX2 Ultra, and I’m in the process of transferring files to it. My question is does transferring files to and from the NAS use the internet at all?

I ask because my home internet has used well over 400GB in 4 days. My PC-to-NAS speed maxxes out at around 30MB/s (which is my internet upload speed). I’d have thought it would be faster if just using my WiFi. I have transferred over 1TB of files to the NAS but haven’t accessed the files over the internet at all. I have the MyCloud attached to the router via the CAT 5 network cable that came with it.

If it is using the internet, how to I turn that off until I’ve transferred all my files. I only need to access those files AFTER they are already on the NAS and I’m not at home.
