WD My Cloud Ex2 Ultra Tooo slow

Hi,

Bought a new router the ASUS RT-AC3200, attached my brand new ex2 ultra to via the provided Ethernet cable (which is cat5e)

i am wirelessly connecting to the NAS using my desktop PC.

now when i tried to transfer a 23.5gb folder mostly full of documents across i am only getting transfer speeds of between 8-14mbps.

i assumed this would transfer much faster at around 70mb/s etc. its very frustrating. all my gear is high-end stuff. Ive tried using the volume without encryption and also enabled the jumbo frames to 9000 via the my cloud dashboard and via the router settings which still did not provide any improvements.

can someone please tell me why i am getting such low speeds using such expensive high end gear?

Thanks, much appreciated

Hello,

Do you have the same issue when you connect the computer to the router?

Hi, i will have to try this when i get some free time, hopefully this weekend sometime.

will post updates once complete.

Thanks

Hi,

i have finally wired everything and the speeds are much improved depending on which computer i am accessing it from.

when i use my highend gaming pc with windows 10 to copy files onto the nas i am gettings speeds between 70-100mb/s which is amazing. Using my business computers in my office that are running windows 7 i am only getting speeds of about 45-60mb/s

i have now run into another issue. when i try to copy a large file e.g. 1gb or larger folder of program installation files from the NAS onto a PC it doesn’t copy at all. It stays as 0kb/s and takes forever to get to the next stage. i cant read large files or copy large files off of the NAS. any help you can give me on this? do i have a faulty unit?

Thanks
