My Cloud EX2 Ultra, Firmware problem?

Hi!
Just bought a new My Cloud EX2 Ultra without HD and a 8TB WD Red HD
(Firmware 2.41.116 I didn’t update to OS5 for now)

I Upgraded to latest firmware, but didn’t upgrade to OS5 for now.

I see some strange problems, although the system claims everything all right:

a) The first few days after firmware update the system informed there is a new OS5 firmware. This info has gone for now.

b) If I select Apps in the dashbord. The current (default) used apps are listed, but selecting Appstore => No available Apps. Why is that?

c) If I check for new firmware It retrieves for a rather long time and rises the error message:
“Unable to connect to the firmware update server. Please check the network connection and try again.”

What to do??

Solved!!!

But I’m not satisfied…

I read the input from david001 Nov’16 and his link to “dark_defender” Mar’16 and realized that could be the reason for my problems:

At my first attempt to change to static IP, I wondered why the first dns had the gateway address as default value. Changing this and the other DNS addresses to valid values gave me the described problems. I didn’t those the google DNS values.

Now I changed to the google dns values and it works.

Changing to Static IP address and selecting DNS addresses is a very common task and should not have these sort of errors!!!

Later on I’ll try if it also solved a problem I had using samba.
