My Cloud being active

Lately I can hear My Cloud being active, but I’m not doing anything with it. Sometimes the computer is off and I can hear the drive working. I’m the only one with access to it. Is this normal? I’ve had it for about a year, and don’t remember it doing this before.

Is there away to check on the activity going on?

Hi and welcome fivthwheel. If you recently copied new files to the My Cloud, it might be indexing the files, to verify this you can try to disable the DLNA media server.

Thanks. I’ll see if that is it. I have been dumping files into it for a while, but don’t remember it making all this noise.

Hi,

my MyCloud never go to sleep until i disabled Twonky. Since i use MiniDNLA (Thanx Nazar78 ) as replacement for Twonky, the MyCloud goes has mediaserver functionality and goes to sleep if nothing to do. Another side effect is that the CPU load average is ~3-4 and not 9+ !!
