My Book Power On issue

When I plug in My Book external harddrive, the power circle light comes on for for about 3 seconds, then it blinks 3 times and shuts off.  Any ideas as to why and how to fix?

Have you tried using a different USB Cable or a different power cable?

Are you able to test the unit on a different computer?
