that release notes link goes to the 1.03 notes page.
If it’s still doing it, clear your browser cache. 1.04.06 is showing up for me.
What about the LED issue detailed in this thread? Any fixes or known root causes?

I just have no words…
No Twonky update option again.
Stop asking what for and just give me right to decide what version I want to use.
As I know Twonky v.6 works flawless on MyBook Live. The only problem is paying for license again.
You just said it.
You need to familiarize yourself with Twonky’s licensing options for NAS devices.
Only certain versions of TWONKY are allowed to be integrated into NAS devices for support reasons.
Out of interest I note that you can now download the firmware to your computer and do a manual update.
that’ll clear up some threads here.
Funny though “this firmware corrects and issue you got when you updated firmware”
I’m still on 1.02. Not sure if it’s worth it to update, as I have a reserved IP and don’t speak chinese.
FWIW (I’m a noobie here):
The SSH URL http:///UI/ssh redirects to http:///UI/login
If this is old news, I’ll find out when I search SSH tomorrow…
If so that’s going to annoy the **bleep** out of a lot of people. Ssh access out of the box was a major selling point for this device.
Could someone with the new firmware please navigate to http://mybooklive:49152//etc/shadow and report back if it cheerfully lets you download a file called shadow.
Well, the SSH thing was NEVER advertised or documented, it was a “Back Door.” It would appear WD closed it. Yeah, I don’t like it, either. Mine is still working though…

Nope… It gives a broken link error now.
I am new here and to the My Book Live but for me with 1.04.06 ssh access works a s I would expect.
trying to go to Mybooklive/UI/ssh without first logging in will always redirect to Mybooklive/UI/login. In order to go to ssh page, you must first log in to the web UI.

Go to SSH page after you’ve logged onto the Dashboard.
I’m just setting up my new MBL and notice that I have firmware 01.02.03. I want to upgrade to the latest firmware 01.04.06, but want to know if I need to install the update that come between these two first - firmware version 01.03.03. I can’t seem to find a recent answer to that in the forums or in the documentation.
Also, Automatic update got stuck in the downloading phase and I am manually downloading the firmware file for 01.04.06. I notice that even my manual download has been stuck at 1.7 MB of 119 MB for a long time. Is the WD server not able to handle the number of requests for the file. Are there any mirror sites for the firmware files?
MBL 01.02.03 went out, downloaded 01.04.06 and updated automatically right out of the box once it was attached to my home network. No errors.

Same here. The secret may be not to start reconfiguring the Lunix configuration as I’m guessing WD’s updates expect their installallations to be unchanged. I’m just happy that now the drive in my MBL is not loading and unloading it’s drive heads faster than a junkie having the shakes because of a lack of narcotics! An action that just involved changing a parameter and not altering any scripts or programs.
hi,
I had a similar problem when I upgraded to 1.03.03 (?). Initially the download did not complete.
Then, for some reason I tried downloading the firmware while streaming a flash video from the internet to my PC, and it worked.
I checked my router and it was configured to disconnect from the internet after a certain amount of idle time, and that is what it was doing during the download. I took this to mean that the protocol used for downloading the new firmware image did not involve sending acks from MBL back to the server.
You might check to see if your router or modem is disconnecting part way through the download.

Configure routers to have a nailed-up connection so there is no disconnect, but if the link disconnect the the router infinitely keep trying to reconnect to the Internet. I’m guessing cable Internet is a different kettle of fish. The cable modem does the trick of nailing-up the internet connection by default.
Check for the “nailed-up” option (or similar) on the router.
