No real update from WD, and I would assume there won’t be anything useful forthcoming. You probably lost your data. You can try using a recovery service or software, which some people have had some success with. WD considers the drive a legacy product, and didn’t see fit to warn its users about the vulnerability until after it was too late.
Sent my WD Live Duo back under warranty in the original box and packing enclosed an another box with foam bubble and plastic air filled bags. Marked with official Fragile tape and Electro Static Sensitive tape. to the Netherlands. I expected a replacement to be sent instead my original was returned, not in my original packing but just a cardboard box saying that it had not been returned in original box under their warranty conditions. I had absolutely no joy from them after many calls and emails. They are liars and cheats, if you are sending anything back photograph everything and make sure to annotate everything. No more WD products for me.
