My Book Live appears dead

Hi there, I’m wondering if anyone can help me. I think my My Book Live has been physically damaged - it seems to have been knocked over and now no light comes on when I plug it in. I moved it about a bit and there was the “clunk” sound of something moving about that shouldn’t.

My question is can it be repaired and, most importantly, can I get my files from it? I never worked out how to use the cloud so if I can’t get the files they are gone for good.

You can contact a 3rd party data recovery center. If it is possible, take out the hard drive from the failed MBL enclosure and connect the drive as secondary storage via SATA port to the computer. Then you may also try a few data recovery software:
