Movie stopped

Good day,
So I uploaded some movie files, mkv file type.

I started watching one. Then went to another and said it couldn’t play it and please download it.

All the others said the same thing. I went back to the first file, same file type, and it had played a minute the file just moments before. Now I got the response it can’t be played, please download it.

But it was just playing?!!?

This is confusing,

Should it be able to play mkv directly or not, and if so, why would it just stop?
