Move Data From My Cloud Home To Another My Cloud Home

Hello
After my first My Cloud Home crash and loss of all data, I have purchased a new 8TB My Cloud Home with the goal of saving a complete copy of all my files in one place and then disconnecting it from the web and storing it in a fire/water safe area in case of complete data loss.

How to I transfer my entire database - Movies, Music, Documents & more - to the new 8TB without using Drag & Drop which on my home network runs at 15MB/s max. It should take 6 months at this rate.

I want to configure the new 8TB to be a RAID backup of the other 3x6 & 8TB’s in order to have a clean safe copy.

Please advise

Greg

You may want to either move your post to the correct subforum or post a new thread in the correct subforum.

This subforum (OS5 My Cloud) discusses a completely different device that has different features, options and operating system than the My Cloud Home line of devices.

One should make sure their network is Gigabit Ethernet capable if possible to help speed the file transfer between network clients. If the My Cloud Home doesn’t offer any capability to back itself up to another local network device then one may be limited to using drag/drop or other forms of copying between devices using a computer. It helps to use a Gigabit capable computer connected via Ethernet cable to the same Gigabit capable router the My Cloud Home(s) are connected to.
