Over the last couple of months, I had downloaded several MKV files. I have no problem viewing them using Windows Media player but when I try using the WD TV Live box to play these files, I encounter problems such as the video fast forward with no volume in certain section of the video. These files also get my WD TV Live to change HDI resolution even though I didn’t change it myself. How can I resolve this problem?
Hello mate,
Try resetting the unit. Also you can check the codes of those MKV files. If the code is H.264 you shouldn’t have any issues.
I have the same media player and I’m able to play those files.

By not downloading crappy encodes from the Internet.
Yes, I did reset my unit to factory default. Still, the problem exists.
How do you check the code in MKV files? What problem would I need to use?
Thanks.
Please post the full TEXT output of MEDIAINFO for such a file.
