Files appear in finder for WD my passport Ultra with ‘locked’ icon, unable to transfer them! Please help.
How were those files copied into your unit? Can you copy your files from a different version of Mac OS?

Hi thanks for your reply. The files were copied from (I think) different versions of the OS starting from about a year ago. They were just drag and dropped into the WD drive. I don’t have the files on my mac anymore, only on the WD hard drive

How long has it been since you last used this hard drive? What happens if you run First Aid in Disk Utility?

Hi it’s only been a few weeks since I last transferred files onto it, so it was using the same OS and working. First aid says unable to mount too so no good, any ideas thanks?
