I have a My Cloud Home device and I want to limit the local network access so that an anonymous user cannot use it for file sharing using the SMB protocol.
Is it possible to do this?
My Cloud Home is a simple home use personal cloud storage that has some SMB functionality enabled. It is not designed for commercial or business use where there could be dozens of authorized and anonymous users.
There is no smb.conf configuration for anyone, including anonymous user, but password level access is available for up to 10 local users through the webapp settings menu to add users and control their local access.

Is there a plan to support it in near-term future?
The MCH is one of the cheapest home personal cloud storage on the market but it is also more than 6 years old and near its EOL (End of Life). It is unlikely for such a home product to gain commercial and business functionality and support at this stage of its life.
