Keep Folder on Remote Server in Sync

So I just bought my WD My Cloud EX 2 and am picking it up tonight from Frys. I have been reading through the available resources online and have not found my answer. I have a remote server that has a folder with large files that i’d like to keep in synce with a folder on my EX2, rather then having to log in and FTP the files down everytimes a new file is added. Is there a way to do this? It seems the only way may be adding the Bittorrent Sync app but I really dont want to void my warrenty right out of the box. Also if this question has been answered on the forums and I missed in my search I apologize. Thanks for any info!

As far as I know/have seen on this forum, BT Sync is your only option…but yes, it may void your warranty. I am not sure but here may already be a reques to add such a feature to the firmware and that wouldn’t void the warranty - do a search in the Network Product Ideas subforum or just browse through the ideas. If there is none (I think there is but a not sure) then you can alwas submit a new idea there - but if you find a exisitng idea for it, just vote by clicking on the up arrow to the left of the username of the first poster in that post to add your vote to that idea. WD may at their discretion implement it if there are enough votes but there is no guarantee that WD will agree to building such a feature. So as is often the case, if you are looking to get additional functionality beyondwhat is provided, you may have to resort to means that will render your warranty useless but your product immensely more useful. That decision is only yours to make. Keep in mind though that if your drives fail, the drives themselves should (in theory) still be in warranty regardless of the EX2’s warranty (at least that’s my logical guess) and in my case I am sure it is because I bought the EX2 diskless and bought and added a drive separately.
