Just bought 4tb My Cloud and I have some questions :)

Hello everyone,

I have few questions about my cloud.

First of all, what are the advantages with FW 4 over FW 3?

Is it possible to install QBittorrent in FW 4 (I’v seen many people saying that its better)

Will installing Ex. Transmission void my warranty.

And how easily this will brick My Cloud.

FW 3 can install apps easily, FW 4 faster but limited apps and need apps precompiled with 64k page size memory patch.

Never tried QB in FW 4 but installing anything may void your warranty. 

Both FW 3/4 is not brick proof. Modifications without proper understanding will easily brick them. E.g. blindly using apt-get.

One more quick question, All what I will do with myCloud is host my Media files + Download P2P.

Which FW I should use in your opinion.

Ohh and how easy it is to Uninstall Apps from WD Cloud ?

P.S Can you recommend any good tutorials for installing apps?

Since you’re using it primarily as data house, then FW 4 should be your choice as it’s faster but it’s your choice really. 

Uninstalling app depends on the app itself. Think almost all the apps requires dependencies unless it’s static build.
