What is the difference of the Itunes server function and a music file server? I was hoping I could configure the iTunes server fature, pair it and control the music with a device and not have a computer running with iTunes. I know I can set up a file server and stream to a workstation with iTunes running without the ITunes server feature. What am I missing?

iTunes server only works with iTunes software.
The built in media server works with any DLNA-based app.
