Hello,
I am running Win7 64 Professional SP1, in a X58 (ICH10R), with current Intel Rapid Store software, and I am having an issue with my new HDD.
I know the drive will be formatted as GPT, however drive manager shows the drive as 775gb, while the Intel Matrix storage manager shows it as 2.85…TB which is correct, but I cannot force it to partition to the correct size.
I know in many cases this is something obvious I missed, but any advice? System does use and detect my 320 blue, 1TB black and 2TB green without issue.
I tested it on a P67 at work, and that saw the drives capacity, however it was trying to make arbitrary partitions of 2tb and 780ishGB, even when selecting GPT. I have a RAID controller on a different system, and I have an array partitioned at over 2TB with GPT.
Why wont this let me? This is not DOS/Win95 and we are WAAAAY past FAT16, there is no need for virtually segmenting a HDD like that. The drive was OEM from Newegg, so if there was a utility disk with it, with for instance a partition manager to handle these issues?
Any advice?
