Is WD My Passport 2TB compatible with LG Smart TV

Hi,

Not really sure if this question should go to WD or LG but one thing I am sure of is I don’t want them throwing the ball at each other while I suffer.

I have been using a WD Elements 1TB External HD to store movies which I connect to my TV and it is working fine. Now I want to upgrade to a 2 TB as there is only 70-80 GB space left. I wanted to see if someone has connected a WD 2TB Passport (ofcourse it comes, without external power supply) and if is it compatible.

FYI I have a LG 49LH576T

The WD My Passport drives are designed for PC environment. You can check out My Passport AV-TV and/or My Book AV-TV, which are designed for TV recording. However, the My Passport AV-TV is not available in 2 TB, the My Book AV-TV is.
