Integration with ownCloud

I want to integrate my Book Live Duo with ownCloud because for unknown reasons I can’t use wd2go.com with Google Chrome and IE redirects me to the Oracle’s website to download Java after it loads the shares, even if it’s already installed and working, and for that I need the WebDAV of the cloud.

I’m using already this, but when I’m going to a friend and try to access the cloud I can’t force him to install the software on his PC just for me. I want to eliminate the software because I want to use the browser to access my files when I’m not at home or I’m  visiting someone and I don’t have my laptop with me.

Of course you can use owncloud with the MBL.  Use this tutorial to set it up.

You will notice that the owncloud installation may call for php5.4, which is not something the orginal guide had to deal with.  You will need to edit your sources.list to get the Weezy feeds. Put these in and edit out the other feeds.

 Then do the installation again.

OR if you want to use the guide to install the version of owncloud which was avalible when the guide was written, use this work around

I just read what you intend to do, and even though owncloud is possible to install, i don’t think it will give you the functionality you actually want.  I recommend that you install F eaturesPack Manager Access Book.   It will let you access all your files from a regular browser without need for WebDav or anythng else.

Update the MyBook Live Duo’s firmware. I picked up on this fault and reported it a while ago. The latest firmware addresses this issue. I’ve just tried it and it works well with wd2go.
