Impossible to acces my NAS for outside my network

Hello everybody,
My NAS used to work nice, i could connect to it from anywhere. But now i can only connect to it from my local network. I saw that a of people have the same issues but couldn’t find any solution. Locally, i can connect to it using the mycloud website, ftp, ssh, of the app. Everything works but when i’m from outside nothing works.

My remote access is activated and say that everything works (sorry i’m french, in english Service cloud = Remote Access and Connexion à la redirection de port établie = Port forwarding connection established)

I tried to set the local IP adress manually but nothing changed

I also tried to do setup port fowarding manually (even if it used to work whithout having to do it) I tried different port address for http and https non of them worked

This is the port fowarding setup of my router

I also did set it up on the mycloud dashboard but the forum doesn’t want me to put too mutch screenshot

I tried to follow the steps of this guy :

Every steps worked until the step 5 where he asks to connect to the nas by typing the external adress with the http port. It says it should says that i don’t have permission, but it says that it is not accessible…

I really tried a lot… It seems like a lot of people have the same problem as me but i can’t figure why it stopped working whithout changing anything… I gess it’s because of a firmware update or something. I don’t know what version i used to have but right now i have 2.31.204 and it says i’m up to date… I didn’t moved or anything i’m still at the same place as when it used to work, same router too…

Should i not set local IP and port fowarding since it used to work without setting it manually ? I checked and my router does support UPNP (don’t really know what it is but if i understood well it something that setup the redirection for you or something)

Thank you a lot for reading this, if someone have an idea it would make my day because the remote access would be very helpfull for me this year.

Typically the first troubleshooting step is to turn off Remote Access/Cloud Access in the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings. Wait a few minutes, then reenable the setting and see if remote access works again. One can test using the MyCloud.com web portal for remote access.

Generally on the Cloud Access Connection Options page/dialog box, the Auto setting works for most people. When using the Auto setting, one typically does not need to setup port forwarding within the router the My Cloud is connected to. Doing so might cause issues.

If one sets the option from Auto to Manual one needs to setup port forwarding within their router for remote access to work. Some broadband providers may block the default ports (80 and 443) use by the My Cloud for Remote Access. If this is the case one can try alternate external ports. For example; 8080 and 4443. When setting up port forwarding the port values used in the Manual setting are the external port values. One would keep the internal port values at 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS. So port forwarding would look something like this: HTTP external port 8080 to internal port 80, HTTPS external port 4443 to internal port 443.

There is a general how to port forwarding tutorial at the following link/post. While it’s geared for the first gen v4.x single bay My Cloud, it should be similar enough for second gen v2.x single bay My Cloud units.

Hey !
Thanks a lot for your response. I followed the tutorial you gave me and it works !
However I don’t see the difference with what i did previously  the only difference is the numbers of the port. Anyway the most important is that it works now
Thanks a lot !
