I want Help Accessing My Cloud Home Duo Remotely

Hey everyone,

I got a My Cloud Home Duo and while it is working fine on my home network; I am having trouble accessing it remotely. I was under the impression that I could easily access my files from anywhere but when I try logging in through the app or web; it either takes forever to load or just does not connect at all.

Also I have tried restarting the device, checking my internet connection & even reinstalling the app but no luck. My internet speed is good & everything else seems to be working fine. Do I need to tweak some settings or enable something specific for remote access? Also, is there a way to make it more reliable?

While searching for solutions, I came across What is google cloud platform but I am not sure if it is relevant to my issue or if it could be an alternative. Has anyone tried using it with My Cloud Home Duo?

You have to determine for yourself whether enabling UPnP for your router is a security risk, but that is one recommendation from WD support.
