I bought it because I saw it was very cheap it was even cheaper than if you bought just the 4TB hard disk and I know it will not be the best nas but I didn’t think it was a sh*t so I want to get the hard drive and use it on my computer but I have a question I have some files on it if I plug it in my computer will I be able to use it without formating? I mean how is the disk formatted it’s in fat32 or what filesystem use?
typically either EXT2, EXT3 or EXT4 … which is a Linux File system
So, you’ll either need to running Linux or if using Windows, create a Linux Live CD or Bootable flash drive to view the files.
