So I managed to extract my hard disk from a spoilt mycloud os3 and placed it in a new enclosure. I want to transfer these files to my new mycloud. Can I do this via the USB port of the mycloud home? Does it read the linux hard disk? If not, what is the best way to quickly transfer 2tb of files ?
The My Cloud Home is a completely different device than the My Cloud line of devices. You should post your question in the My Cloud Home subforum (http://community.wd.com/c/os5/252) since the My Cloud Home does not use OS5 firmware. Also you should search the WD Knowledge Base (link top of page) for what USB drive formats the My Cloud Home device supports. Or see the MY Cloud Home User Manual, at the WD Support link top of page.
External USB Drive File Systems Supported on My Cloud Home Products

Linux’s EXT4 format that most My Cloud hard drive data partitions are formatted to is not supported by the My Cloud Home. The My Cloud Home only supports: NTFS, HFS+, FAT32, and exFAT external USB drive formats.
Edit to add: Or just connect that hard drive to a computer running Linux or running a Linux driver if using Windows OS and copy the files from the hard drive to the MY Cloud Home.
