Dashboard for the 1-Bay My Cloud is available at http://wdmycloud or with its IP-Address. Do you see the My Cloud in your network environment at the Windows File Explore?
Thanks for the reply.
I cannot see the My Cloud in my network.
I’m connecting to my personal wifi whereas the Mycloud is connected to office router.
IP Address of my cloud with my office mate is 192.168.1.2/UI. Is the IP address changing from time to time?
Are both Wifi Accesspoint and My Cloud connected to the same cabled network? I am a bit confused about your sentence if both devices are in the same network.
both are not the same network
The office network is power projects while my personal network is JCDnet
My problem is I cannot access the file if I already go home.
I cannot see the wDMyCloud in the network if I go home
Is Remote Access enabled (set to On) on the My Cloud? (Check the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > General page.)
Is the office network/firewall configured to allow remote access to the My Cloud?
What program or software are you using to try and access the My Cloud remotely?
Generally one cannot access the My Cloud Dashboard remotely. By default the My Cloud blocks remote access to the Dashboard from any computer not on the local network. One can use the WD My Cloud Desktop program, the WD Sync program, the MyCloud.com web portal, and the WD My Cloud apps for Android/iOS to access a My Cloud remotely.
I don’t have any software to access My Cloud remotely? is there any recommended software? so that I can access the files to the Windows File Explorer.
How to see the network/firewall configuration to allow remote access to the My cloud?
You will have to work with your office’s IT person who is responsible for managing the office network to ensure the My Cloud located on the office network can be accessed remotely. Generally it just means ensuring UPnP support is enabled within the router and the router’s firewall is allowing access through to the My Cloud.
WD removed the capability to remotely “map” the My Cloud to Windows File Explorer a while back. Feel free to voice your complaints about it in the following Cloud Ideas thread.
hello shabuboy
I just click the “Turn on Network Discovery”.
I open network sharing center
at the advance setting
then I turn on Network Discovery.
It works now. However, if I change the internet connection I cannot see WDMYCLOUD. I mean I connect to other Wifi network.
Is there any possibility to see WDMYCLOUD if I change the internet connections.
