How to stop multiple user editing the same file at the same time?

I am using my cloud personal storage for a small company. We are using it to share documents and files. most of these files are mostly in excel spreadsheet or Microsoft office words.

So what I need is to set these files only can be open by one user at a time. Is there a way I can set that?

@meifong Have you looked at the User Manual for the My Cloud Home, Chapter 6 and 7?

Do you have the My Cloud HOME (which is the section you posted in) or the My Cloud?

Either way, File Locking is handled by Microsoft Office separate from CIFS/SMB file locking. It should not be possible for a user to open a file in Read/Write mode if it is already open by another user.
