I have a new My Cloud Home and can’t see my k create new folders alongside Public when I access it through my Windows PC.
Any ideas?
I could do this on my old My Cloud I purchased in 2015, that had a different web app to manage. But the new My Cloud Home seems to have a different web app.
The My Cloud Home device has a different setup and interface compared to the traditional My Cloud devices. With the My Cloud Home, creating folders outside of the “Public” folder is a bit different. Here’s how you can create folders alongside the “Public” folder:
Access the My Cloud Home Web App: Open a web browser on your Windows PC and go to the My Cloud Home web app by typing in the URL: home.mycloud. com
Sign in to your My Cloud Home account: Use your account credentials to log in to the web app.
Navigate to the “Files” Section: Once you’re logged in, you should see the “Files” section, displaying the content in your “Public” folder.
Click on “Public” to Enter the Directory: Click on the “Public” folder to enter the folder.
Create a New Folder: Inside the “Public” folder, look for the option to create a new folder. This may vary depending on the interface, but it’s usually a button or an option that says “New Folder” or “+ Folder.”
Name the New Folder: When prompted, give your new folder a name.
Move the New Folder: Once the new folder is created, you should be able to drag and drop it to the desired location alongside the “Public” folder.
Alternatively, you can try the following method if the above steps don’t work:
Access the My Cloud Home Web App.
In the “Files” section, look for an option that allows you to go up one level in the directory structure. This may be represented by an icon like “Up Arrow” or “Parent Directory.”
Navigate to the root directory or the top-level directory. Rewriting tool
Create a New Folder: Look for the option to create a new folder at the top-level directory. It might be a button or an option that says “New Folder” or “+ Folder.”
Name the New Folder: When prompted, give your new folder a name.
Move the New Folder: Once the new folder is created, you should be able to drag and drop it to the desired location alongside the “Public” folder.
Keep in mind that the interface may change over time as updates are made to the My Cloud Home web app. If you are still having trouble, you can also consult the official documentation or contact the My Cloud Home support team for assistance.
