Hiccup when playing music from device

Hi folks. My device is a 3 TB MyCloud, some years old but working well. Firmware 5.26.202. OS5 MyCloud App, version 4.22.0.2040 on an LG M200n (or so). When playing a music file, the playback runs for a certain time, let’s say 30 sec, 1 min or 2 min, not predictable. Then there occurs exactly one break, or hiccup or whatever you may name it. The song restarts from the beginning and then plays until the end. Next song, same procedure. Funny but very irritating …

Anyone out there having a similar problem? Any idea what this might be?

(no, it’s not the mp3 files - when playing music via PC, everything’s fine)
