Help with WD MyCloud Home Port Forwarding

Hi Community,

I’m quite new to the whole NAS and port forwarding topic but did a lot of reading. However my WD My Cloud Home won’t work in Port Forwarding mode.
I did switch on UPnP in my router settings and the NAS has a permanent IP assigned. I however my router can’t forward large port ranges (i.e. 40000 - 49999). Does that need to be the case?
Do I need a DynDNS for MyCloud Home?

Appreciate your help!
Thanks!

Hi marco1212,

You should have a look at the link given below.

Hi alex.s!

Thanks for coming back to me! I tried all the tips given in the support articles but it doesn’t seem to work out. I did activate UPnP and ensure that My Cloud has the same IP Address at all times.

Can you tell me what else I need to do? Do I have to enter fixed port that need to be forwarded manual or is this all being managed by My Cloud once UPnP is enabled?

I’m a bit annoyed about this since my router tells me that My Cloud hasn’t even attempted to make amendments to the port settings (as you’d expect for UPnP devices).

Thanks for your help!
Best
Marco
