HELP! WD Elements (Model WDBAAU0020HBK) portable drive makes noise 5 times and then stops

WD Elements (Model WDBAAU0020HBK) portable drive is not detected.

It makes spin noise 5 times and then stops; hear some noise 5 times and then quiet.

LED blinks continuously.

The data in the disc is very important to me. Please help!

Hello,

Have you connect the drive into a different computer? Is your computer a desktop or laptop computer? Have you replace the USB cables?

  • Tried connecting to multiple computers, mainly laptops and to desktop.

  • Tried 3 different USB cables

  • Tried combination of connection orders, say first connect the power, then connect usb vice versa etc.

Note: It gives some spinning and coming to stop kind of noise three times. From the moment, USB cable is connected to the laptop, it shows the blinking LED. I use windows 7.
