I just bought a 2T WD Elements portable hard drive and have no idea what to do with it. I plugged it into my laptop with the provided USB cord and can feel and hear the hard drive working. The light is also flashing. It’s been doing this for the past 45 minutes.
I can’t seem to find the device listed on my computer. Shouldn’t I be able to see it like I do with a flash drive? Did I misunderstand that it was just “Plug and Play”? Do I need to download something before using it?
I’m at capacity on my laptop and wanted this so that I could back-up my info and also delete some things off of the laptop to free up space. Sorry for so many questions. I’m not very computer savvy, so I’ve tried to provide enough info for someone to understand where I’m at. Thanks!
