Hello, I have the first generation single bay/single drive My Cloud (P/N: WDBCTLxxxxxxx- 00 , FW 04.xx.xx) 04.05.00-342 (09/04/2019) is the latest current firmware version for the first gen single bay/single drive My Cloud.

Is this firmware version safe to continue using? Are there known security defects? If I turn off remote access, would that make it safe to continue using the device? Thanks

This is to inform you that Western Digital cloud services, firmware update servers, are safe and can be used as usual.

Security vulnerabilities do not affect our current My Cloud product family.
