Firmware Upgrade and Additional Encoding support for WDTV Gen-1

Hello ,

I use WDTV Gen-1 with upgraded firmware 1.03.01.

My questions are:

  1. It display blank character when filename is not english text.  How can WDTV (gene) system support more additional encoding(in system selection, there is limited choices)? 

      If yes, how can I add it locally?

  1. Is it possible can take firmware from Gen-2 or WDTVLive to upgrade into Gene-1?
