My friend who has a MyBook Duo 44 TB is having a problem with it suddenly disconnecting from her 2025 MacBook Air throughout the day. She’s asked me to help her…
She bought the 44 about a year ago… I’m wondering if there have been any firmware updates released since she bought it. I’ve done a search but couldn’t find anything. Could someone let me know what the situation is?

I’m not aware of any firmware updates for your friend’s MyBook Duo. As it’s still under warranty, I suggest you (or she) contact WD Support directly.
There are a few other threads regarding Macs disconnecting.
what firmware is now?
if you did set up password these drives disconnect when pc resumes from sleep.
you would need pc to be constantly on to prevent this.
i assume same behavior is with macs
