After updating firmware my WD TV will not even find mp4 files let alone play them. Is it possible to force the firmware update to run again or go back to my old firmware?
Hello and welcome to the WD community.
You can try to download the firmware manually and extract it to a flash drive and then boot up the unit to see if it shows a new firmware found. You can also roll back a firmware the same way and then manually update the firmware on the unit or re download the firmware from the interface.

i’m using an attached USB and 1.02.17 finds all of my MP4’s and plays them fine.
Have you tried a factory reset ? or if still no go, yes, you can reinstall the firmware … here’s my guide
