File too large for volume format

I’m trying to move larger video files to my WD 4Tb and I got this message

“The item “Emily 2nd bday, Nova Scotia” can’t be copied because it is too large for the volume’s format”

How do I change the volume settings to allow me to transfer large file sized?

If your drive is formatted FAT32 the largest file it will accepet is about 4 gig. Did you reformat the drive to use on video devices?

gaffed,

Joe_S is correct. The FAT32 File System that allows for simultaneous Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS compatibility has an individual file size limitation of 4GB. This limitation can be bypassed by formatting the disc into a dedicated file system such as NTFS or HFS+ at the cost of cross-system compatibility.
